What is CRERO?
Background:
The Coalition of Rehabilitation Engineering Research (CRERO) is an organization that has been formed to help promote research in the area of rehabilitation engineering (including assistive technology, universal design, job site modification, etc.).
Mission:
To educate about and demonstrate to the public, policy makers and legislators the potential and importance of Rehabilitation Engineering research and training outcomes related to the life goals of persons with disabilities.
Objectives:
- To facilitate the production and distribution of informational materials about
the benefits and potential impact of RE research.
- To form working affiliations with other organizations and groups that will
support the accomplishment of the CRERO mission.
- To establish mechanisms to keep members informed about policy and legislative
issues that potentially impact on the future of RE research. To promote training in
the field of RE research.
- To work with OSERS-NIDRR and others in establishing research priorities.
- To institute a policy/economic decision-making process to define and quantify
cost effective research programs
- To seek financial support to carry out the mission of CRERO.
